Are Evanescence popular where you live?

So this is about whether you know many people friends, family etc who also like this band.
I hardly know any most people seem to have forgotten about evanescence around here I think most people think they have split up, my friend calls Amy "that weird girl you fancy" lol and I never once heard Good Enough or Sweet Sacrifice on the radio when they came out.
Thats why I come onto these forums as its the only place I can talk about them really

Everyone i know likes Evanescence EVERYONE Well, my partner used to like them but hates TOD so he's not really a fan anymore...........

But i get everyone i know to like them They just won't listen to metal though

I never listen to the radio so no i haven't heard them, but that's a good thing because people hate bands who are over played.

Well Just Few People Around Me Likes EV (And I Mean FEW!!) But Sweet Sacrifice And CMWYS Are Always On The Radio And The TV Here (Well SS And GE Is Always On TV And CMWYS Is ALWAYS ALWAYS On Radio!) So I Think They Are Popular Here But Not Alot Coz No One Here Really Listens To Metal They All Went To Hip Hop/Rap And Crap Like That!

I know that they are very famous here...but I don't know ANYBODY who likes them like I do...my friend says that she likes My Immortal and Lithium, but I don't really know somebody that has 3 copies of Fallen and 3 copies of TOD like me!!

in fact when they came here, they had aroun 17000 ppl !

and many of my friends at least know a song of them, and Ev songs are played on radio, so....

i don't know how much radio play they get here but it seems like most people my age at least know who they are.

Not particularly. Most people around here are dance/R&B followers. Urgh!

The kids in London definately don't support Evanescence here. I must admit though, CMWYS was very very popular when it first come out. If I mention Evanescence, people'll either be like "Oh yeah, the lead singer is hot/pretty" or "Who the fuck?" Most people I know either like rap or heavy metal, and Evanescence is neither so..

In my neck of the woods it seems i am their only fan. I know there must be a few around but no one I have met even knows who they are except for people under 20 Years old and all of them around here absolutely hate Ev...go figure, huh? That's why i always say that I am on a desert Island with Ev.

Same here, but everyone has heard of Evanescence though. I was buying a mag (Kerrang, can't believe i bought that crap) in my local shop months ago and the boy behind the till said "oh you like that kind of music do you?" So i said yes and he asked what was my favourite band and i of course replied Evanescence and he said, "they're not a band" I just gave him evils and left the shop. TWAT

I agree Kerrang! can be a poor magazine sometimes, I only ever buy it when there are posters of our fav rock goddess in there

SON: "No, it's the worst stuff around."

Now, my son is sixteen and a fan of some groups that I love like Radiohead and Red Hot Chili's but he hates Ev and my daughters who are 18 and 21
say the music is OK but Amy's voice is irritating Can you fathom that!!! I scratch my head! And these are the GOOD reviews...I just don't get it!

My dad and mom like Ev, so do most of my friends...which is why I'm starting to drift away

They're not that popular around here. When they were touring The Open Door they played a small venue downtown and hardly anyone showed up, even though tickets were only like $12. Heck, I didn't even go, probably because I didn't like the opening act.

Another measure of popularity is how long it takes to get an album at the public library. There was only about a one-week wait for Open Door, compared to several months for Avril Lavigne. By the time they finally called me for Best Damn Thing I had already bought it on my own.

How bad can the opening act be for you not to go? I've never seen them live but i will before they split Unless they split soon, then i'm buggered

I don't even remember who the opening act was. It could have been that this was one of those times when I didn't do something because I just wasn't motivated.

$12! wow, i paid $75 to see them....
