| Amy has gotten a load of shit over her vocal ability live. Do you think this is fair? Or like me do you agree that she isn't too good live but that's because she's always running around on stage? I mean, how can someone with Amy's vocal ability really flop on stage? I think she needs to stop running around so much! While she's at the piano and live she's awesome, so this just proves my point |

I don't think so , I think that she needs to control the running around a little, cuz if you see any performance of Amy with the piano she sounds amazing! like This One |

| I Know When She's Sitting Doing On The Piano She Sound Better But When She Runs Around It's Really Fun And Entertaining If She Performs The Whole Show Sitting Down It Would Be Boring! The Running Around Is Kinda Her Style! _________________ Drown my will to fly |

| I think alot of the criticism came on the recent tour? Which was so, so long and I'm sure Amy was exhausted by the end. And it had been such an amazingly hectic 18 months even by evanescence standards Maybe thats why some performances may not have been so great _________________ "I can't remember the time or place. | i feel like she gets sick a lot on tour, although you can usually tell when her singing is suffering because she's sick. |

| Absolutely...Amy does go flat on some of her songs when she runs around on stage for 2 reasons - first her songs are very dependent on exact and accurate tonal quality, they are , sort of, operatic in nature so they demand that the singer be right on key - second, I don't think Amy has been into physical fitness because, maybe, she feels she doesn't need to be but, many singers, as they get older especially put aerobics programs into their daily regimens so they maintain stamina for the entire show; respiratory stamina is crucial to maintain a powerful voice like Amy's. Also, look at the types of singers who jump around on stage a lot when they sing - Mick Jagger, Hayley Williams, Shirley Manson, Roger Daltry, Anthony Keidis...there songs are, what I call, "Rough rock" where the lost melody from hyperventilation actually enhances the projection of the song; their songs are not so "exact". There is no doubt, IMHO, that Amy is at her very best when sitting at her piano and doing, Lithium, Good Enough, Like You and similar slow numbers. I think Amy just likes to be very active onstage and, people in the audience seem to love it so, what the hell. Finally, other "active" singer actually do a lot of their on stage gymnastics when they are not singing and then stop "dead still" when they deliver their vocals - it is all in the performers' style and what the audience wants - an animated Amy with diminished vocals or a relaxed amy, sitting at the piano, delivering exact poerful vocals...I prefer the latter! |

| I like Amy's voice very much, but it's not the best in the world, so all the antics on stage really take away from her sound. But I still like. |

| I was in a couple of bands (albeit briefly) and tried a few different performance techniques. In my earlier gigs, I just stood there and sang. It sounded great, but something was missing. So then I shifted to headbanging, which wasn't great on my breathing technique. The quality of the voice was worse, but the show was better. And really, if people want a perfect voice, get the demo or album. But they are paying to see a good show. Amy just gets really passionate and into her performance. I think her live antics make up for her poor live voice. Jenna |

Yeah i would prefer to see someone enjoying themselves on stage rather then just standing there worrying if their voice sounds ok or not I just get fed up with all the critism Amy gets for her live performances but when she is sitting at the piona and singing she sounds perfect
Sure some people can sing great and still run around on stage but not everyone is perfect and not everyone sings as good as Amy when she's not ruing around |

| hejz, Well I've been twice to an evanescence concert and Amy sounds really great live, but on computer she sounds so much differently, I think you can't know how she sings for real by watching youtube. She really sounds amazing live and the running around is awesome too. It's not because I love amy that much but it's just true, she does sing better live than when you hear on computer, so before judging go see an ev concert ( tho it might take a couple of more years for those who haven't ) Greetzz W_V |

| ^ Agreed. She sounded fine at the Denver show Well...I'm not quite sure if it is the running around. Because Sharon den Adel does the same thing and she does her arm flailing dancing all the time and still sounds fine. Albeit, she doesn't run around quite as much as Amy does... But I think most of the performances where Amy's not sounding her best are the ones where she's either sick or she's been doing concerts 14 days in a row and her voice is tired. |

| Criticism about Amy? Uhm ... People already know that Amy owns the stage, so why is she totally freaking out on stage? Jumping,"screaming",running and dancing. Yeah, that's Amy _________________ And I'm still waiting for the rain to fall. Pour real life down on me. 'Cause I can't hold on to anything this good enough.
